Smudge is an animated series that follows a young, mischievous inkblot as they navigate a world of giants, magic, and newfound friendship. Jenna voices the title role.
The Character
Smudge needed a voice that felt young without being childish, curious without being naive, and brave without losing vulnerability. Jenna brought a range of takes that captured the character's full emotional arc, from playful opening scenes to the tender moments in the final act.
The Story
Meet Smudge, an inkblot who dreams of becoming more than a tiny mark on a page. Longing for a story of their own, Smudge makes a bold choice that pulls them into the heart of the magical World Book, a place shaped by imagination and guarded by the legendary Inkling Society.
When things take an unexpected turn, Smudge is cast out into the Unfiniverse, a realm where unfinished stories drift, shift, and sometimes bite back. Wandering through strange passages and dangerous ideas, Smudge encounters mysterious locations, curious characters, and a band of unlikely allies who challenge what it means to create, to belong, and to be remembered.
Whispers of a growing shadow, and a figure who thrives in secrets, suggest that Smudge's journey is only beginning. This three-episode compilation brings together the start of Smudge's adventure, a story filled with wonder, creativity, and the spark that lives in every great tale.
